On November 1st, Lil Uzi Vert released his long-awaited album Eternal Atake 2, which he teased for a few months. I was excited due to the magnanimity of Eternal Atake, which I believe is Lil Uzi’s best album. But, when I listened to the new album, I was unhappy. I will discuss my opinion on the album.
What’s notable at first is that Maaly Raw did not produce anything on this album. There are also other good producers who work with Uzi, but you can see how his absence caused a serious drop in the production quality. The first few tracks on the album had probably the worst production I’ve ever heard on an Uzi album.
But, as you go further in the album, it does start to pick up in quality. I enjoyed tracks like Lyft Em Up, and I would argue that the last few, especially Chill Bae and Conceited are the best on the album. The issue is just that Uzi didn’t bring much to the table with his execution, especially at the start. And although there are excellent tracks on the album, they do not match the highs of his other albums.
Overall, I don’t think that this album is horrible. But it is certainly not Uzi’s best. I personally think that people are being a bit too harsh on him. However, I wish that the quality on the album would simply be better. I’d give the album a 2.6/5.
