In March, AITE’s Model United Nations team traveled to New York City to participate in the prestigious National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference, bringing its largest delegation to date with 16 students. Delegates represented the nations of Trinidad and Tobago and Mozambique across a variety of committees, including DISEC and UN-Habitat, engaging in high-level debate, negotiation, and diplomacy.
NHSMUN brings together students from around the world to simulate the work of the United Nations, challenging participants to address pressing global issues through collaboration and critical thinking. The multi-day event includes committee sessions, plenary meetings, and opportunities for cultural exchange.
A highlight of this year’s conference was a keynote address by former U.S. President Joe Biden, who encouraged students to embrace global cooperation and lead with integrity.
AITE’s strong showing at NHSMUN marks a significant achievement for the school’s growing Model UN program and highlights its commitment to global education and civic engagement.
